Save the Date Card Templates

Send a save the date card as soon as the wedding date is fixed. Pick a modern, floral or traditional design, add your names, date and city, and download a free PDF to send to family and friends on WhatsApp.

What to write on a save the date

A save the date is a short early announcement, sent two to four months before the wedding. It gives relatives abroad time to book flights and colleagues time to apply for leave, which matters most when the wedding falls in a busy muhurtham month like Thai, Vaikasi or Avani and every hall and train is booked.

Keep the save the date card to the essentials: your names, the wedding date and the city. Time, venue and the family wording belong in the proper invitation that follows.

End with “Formal invitation to follow” (or ‘முறையான அழைப்பிதழ் விரைவில்’ in Tamil) so guests know more details are coming.

Save the Date – FAQ

When should we send a save the date?

Two to four months before is normal. For a destination wedding, or if a lot of guests are flying in from the US, UK or the Gulf, send it about six months ahead.

Can I make a Tamil save the date?

Yes. A few templates already have Tamil wording such as ‘இந்த நாளை ஒதுக்கி வையுங்கள்’, and you can type Tamil into any of the others.

Can I share it on WhatsApp?

Download the PDF and forward it directly. If some elders want a printed one, the same file prints as a 5 × 7 inch card.
