Christian wedding invitation wording

Many Christian wedding cards open with ‘In the presence of God’ or ‘With joyful hearts and the blessing of our families’. Tamil Christian families often put ‘கர்த்தருக்கே மகிமை’ or a short verse at the top instead.

Then name the couple, invite guests to ‘celebrate their Holy Matrimony’, and give the date, time and church with its locality. If the reception is at a different place, give it its own line so guests don’t mix the two up.

A verse at the end rounds off a Christian wedding invitation. 1 Corinthians 13:4, Ecclesiastes 4:12 and Mark 10:9 are the usual choices, but use whichever one your pastor or parish priest suggests.

Christian Wedding Invitation – FAQ

Can I change the Bible verse?

The verse is an ordinary text field. Replace it with any verse and reference, in English or Tamil.

Can I write the invitation in Tamil for a Tamil Christian wedding?

Yes. All fields take Tamil, and you can switch any line to a Tamil font such as Noto Serif Tamil. Copy the verse from your Tamil Bible app and paste it straight in.

Can I add reception details?

Use ‘Add text’ for a line like ‘Reception at 7 PM, Parish Hall’ and drag it below the church details.
