Wedding Reception Invitation Templates

Make a wedding reception invitation that matches your main wedding card. Tamil templates come with திருமண வரவேற்பு (varavetpu) wording and the English ones with reception wording, both ready to edit.

Reception invitation wording tips

Make it obvious that this card is for the reception and not the muhurtham. Give the evening time plainly, for example ‘7.00 PM onwards’, so nobody turns up at the mandapam in the morning.

Write the couple’s names in the order your family prefers. When the groom’s side hosts the reception, which is common when it is held in the groom’s town a few days after the wedding, his name usually comes first.

Close with the hosting family: ‘With best compliments from …’ in English or ‘இப்படிக்கு’ in Tamil. A wedding reception invitation doesn’t need the full muhurtham details, but a line saying dinner will be served helps guests plan.

Wedding Reception Invitation – FAQ

Can I make a separate reception card that matches my wedding invitation?

Open the same design, switch the wording to reception wording and download it again. The fonts and colours stay as you set them, so the two cards look like a pair.

What size is the reception invitation?

5 × 7 inches, portrait, as a 300 DPI PDF. That is the size most Indian printers work with for invitations.

Can I write the reception invitation in Tamil?

Yes. The Peach Lotus Varavetpu template already has Tamil reception wording, and every other template accepts Tamil text too.
